Christmas, the Cruise and New Year
Heey Y'all
Even though it is already 12 days ago that 2016 started: Happy New Year to Y’all. Sorry it’s been so long again but I just didn’t have the time to write any sooner…
Three weeks ago my Christmas break started and it was a busy Christmas break. The first weekend I could rest a little bit but as soon the Monday was there it was all busy. I had the first two days cross country/track practice and I stayed the night with my Ayusa representative not for any important reason just because it was fun. My representative has two young daughters and a son. During my stay there cousin was there as well and a friend of the family so it was a busy house. Nevertheless I had a lot of fun; we played a lot of games and just laugh I guess. The next morning I had practice again and after practice I went home to sleep, cuz I am telling you I was tired!! Wednesday I didn’t have any plans so I could rest some more before it was Christmas.
On Christmas Eve we went to the midnight mass and we had lunch with the family. Gosh that food was good!!! Before the mass but after lunch we opened the Christmas presents from each other and on Christmas morning the presents that Santa brought us. The day after Christmas we drove to New Orleans where our Cruise would leave. I had a lot of fun at the Cruise my highlight was swimming with Dolphins, it’s been on my bucket list for so long and now I finally did itJ.
The weather during the cruise was awesome, especially now it is getting cold here. When I first read about Mississippi I found out that in the winter it would be around the 14 ?but that is so not true… It is not even the coldest month (February) and in the mornings it is already freezing… So to get to the warm weather for a week was really nice. On the fifth day of the Cruise it was New Years. There was a party on board and Cara and I danced till midnight and then jumped with clothes and all in the pool. I had a lot of fun, unfortunately we had to get up early the next morning (January first) so I was pretty tired but this didn’t stop me for having fun.
During the Christmas break an exchange student came back to America from Germany that was here last year and is friends with mine. On the first Monday back to school I got to meet here and I thought that was pretty cool since she had the same experience as me last year. It was her last day here in America so when they all said goodbye it was a bit awkward for me since I only met here two hours before but YOLO. Yesterday (January 11) I had a award event for all the spring sports for me Cross country, and I got a medal that recognized me as a Senior athlete. It is not much but it was fun to experience.

Don't know how to name this one...
Heey Y’all
You can thank Saar for this blog because she reminded me that it’s been a while since my previous blog. Sorry… Anyways a lot has happened since my last blog. My last blog ended with homecoming and that’s already 6,5 weeks ago!!!! Time flies when you’re having funJ. Oke, let’s get back to the subject. The week after homecoming I went to Cara’s show. They did the sound of music and she was a non. The show was so good, I really couldn’t believe how beautiful all the voice were and how good they acted. So my compliments to CaraJ.
On the 31 of October it was Halloween. I went to a haunted house with Cara and David and it was quite scary to me! When we were standing in the lane I was telling Cara that if there would be a spider room I would freak out and guess what… THERE WAS A FREAKING SPIDER ROOM!!!! Thank god Cara was also scared in the haunted house so I was not the only one.
The first week of November it was spirit week. We dressed up all week because that Friday we had to play against our biggest rival in Football: Brandon. Spirit week was fun the commence was decorated all week long and everyday had a special theme. One of the days it was around the world and you had to dress up as an other culture of course I dressed up as the Netherlands with a orange shirt and my “klompsloffen”. I couldn’t go to the game but I really didn’t care because the weather was awful plus I had my state party with my cross country team and we had a lot of fun!!The party was for the state meet that was coming up that Tuesday. This is the biggest meet of the year for cross country and if your team wins this meet you are the state champions of the year. Unfortunately we didn’t win but we did get second so that is still really good and I am so proud of my team <3.
This same Friday we also had our senior walk through during the pep rally. During this pep rally all the seniors that joined a team or club walked through the gym for the last time. It was just a small thing but it was good and nice to experience it. They told me that last year it was really emotional but it to me it wasn’t that emotional this year.
The night of November 17 and November 18 I had my first TORNADO experience and gosh I did not like that at all. Before we went to bed we already knew that bad weather was coming and that there could be a tornado, at first I thought it would be pretty cool but when I woke up in the middle of the night because the wind was blowing so hard that thought was completely gone. When I woke up the first thing I did was getting my laptop and put it behind my bed and sat there down because I was scared that the windows would break. I didn’t want to go downstairs because I thought it was normal for them but when the windows and my bed started shaking I realized this was not normal at all and thank god that Cara turned on the light in the living room so I knew that I wasn’t the only one that was scared. We walked downstairs together to wait until the tornado passed by. The next morning we couldn’t leave the house because there was no electricity so we couldn’t open the garage plus all the trees felt on the road so there was no way we could get to school in time… Oh By the way did I told y’all that we moved in to the new house?? Well we did and it looks so pretty and it is really big to me. I’ve got my own personal bathroom and I share the shower and toilet with Cara and I’ve got a walking in closet. A women’s dream that came true for me!
Last week we had thanksgiving break but I didn’t get any rest at allJ. At Monday I went to high haven with my friends. It is a trampoline park in Flowood and it is so much fun!!!
Afterwards we all went to my place and stayed the night. Wednesday I went back to high haven with Melanie, David, Sam and Cara and again I had a lot of fun. Afterwards we went to the movies and watched Mockingjay part 2 I loved this movie especially the ending. I won’t tell you all about it because I don’t want to spoil for the people who haven’t seen it yet. Thursday it was THANKSGIVING. My first Thanksgiving ever and I loved it. We went to David dad’s house with the whole family and we eat a lot, and then I mean a lot of food. Everything I tried I loved but I was fool for the next two days… oepsie…
.
Friday it was Black Friday I we went shopping all day long, I bought a couple of things. It wasn’t that hectic as I expected but it was still something I had not seen inmy life.
School started again and in two and a half weeks we have Christmas break. The last week before Christmas break we have exam week so I probably don’t have to come that Thursday and Friday because I won’t have exams on these days. I already have some plans for Christmas break and I look forward to every single one especially Christmas and the cruise!!
I will try to write a other blog after Christmas but I can’t promise anything.
Love,
Susannah

Just an Update
Hey y’all,
I chose this title because I’ve done a lot since my last blog so let’s begin at the beginning :).
On September 19thwe went to the Mississippi State football game. It’s the game from Sam’s university and because it’s college football it’s a lot bigger than my first game at my school. The thing at Mississippi state is the COWBELL, everyone has one and for some reason you can’t by your own one. I don’t know why exactly but it just is how it is :). Sam gave me one just before the game began and he personalized it. It looks so pretty!! During the game whenever something good happens at the field everyone rings his/hers cowbell. When you here only one or two cowbells the sound is awful but if you have a whole stadium full of people who are ringing there cowbell it sounds pretty awesome… I loved the game, the atmosphere and school spirit is so nice, you wouldn’t find that in the Netherlands. Even though I didn’t (and still don’t) get all the rules of the American football I really enjoyed myself :D.
I also had my senior picture made on September 30th. It is this thing every senior does as a reminder of their senior year and to put in the Yearbook and in their home. I think mine looks pretty good, of course it can always look better but I’m satisfied with it :).
This week has been CRAZY!!! Saterday my Cross Country team had a meet, unfortunately I’m still not allowed to run in the meets cuz I’m still not in shape, but I still went to support my team. Afterwards we all went eating at Yummy’s and it was pretty good. Monday and Tuesday I didn’t had school but if you think I didn’t had to work your wrong… Cuz Cross Country always practice and I LOVE IT!! So Monday and Tuesday night I had practice and men that practice on Tuesday was hard! We had to do a really hard workout we had to do a 1 mile warm-up and then we had to do a 1200m, 600m, 300m, 300m, 600m, 1200m. After the I had finished my workout I thought I was done, but I was wrong cuz we also had to do a 1 mile cool-down.. gosh I was so tired and then we had the next day school again so I had to wake up early again. Wednesday after school I went to the fair, not to ride any rides but to go to the concert of SHAWN MENDES!!!! I Loved It So Much!! He was so good, and the best thing was that I was all the way in the front cuz Columbia (the girl I went with) kept a spot for me J Lucky Meeee. As I already sad: It was amazing but I got home really late and the next morning my alarm went off at 5:15 am and I just couldn’t wake up at all.
Yesterday we had HOMECOMING, I didn’t have a date but I could care less. I just went with my friends to it and I had so much fun!!! Before the dance began we went to the homecoming game to so who got homecoming maid, after that we went back to Shelby’s house to get ready together. We all looked so pretty :). After the dance (around 1:00 Pm) we went to Waffle House to get something to eat. I’m telling you it was delicious. When we finally got home (I spent the night at Shelby’s) it was around 2:30 Pm so by the time we finally were asleep it was 3:00 Pm. I know you could care less, but the reason I’m telling y’all this is because we had freaking Morning Practice this morning at 7:00 Am, so we had only a few hours of sleep before we had to be back at to school and run!! I was and am soo tired but everything was defiantly word it.
I really love it here and I’ve planned a lot of fun thingsto do in the upcoming weeksJ. I will try to keep y’all updated.
Love,
Susannah
Football game and Pep rally
Hey Guys,
I know it's been a while since I wrote something but I am writing now!!
I've been America for a month now and I love it!! It still feels like summer for me and no one understands me when I tell them I love this weather... Another thing they don't understand is that I LOVE drop! I brought some with me to school this week and let some people try it. As soon as they tasted it they almost puked, it was so funny. Of course I already knew they wouldn't like it so after they tried it I promised to bring something good from the Netherlands (stroopwafels!!). So this Tuesday I will bring some for them. Hopefully they will like it otherwise I have to think about something else.
Yesterday (Friday) we had our first home game. It already started in school where everyone dressed up with Hawaii accessories and of course the pep rally. During the pep really all the students went to the gym and scream and dance for the football team. The Dance team and the Cheerleaders were there to do their little routine. To be honest I expected that the pep really would be all about the footballers, but it seemed to me it was more about the dance and cheer team. But still it was a lot of fun!
The game started at 7 Pm. There was a student section where all the students of Pearl High could stand. All people in the student section wore white, because the game had the "white out" theme. But my shirt wasn't white at the end of the night, because we all had this powder we would throw in the air at the kick off and when we felt like it. So at the end of the night my t-shirt was: blue, yellow and pink. We also had baby powder so we were also a bit white and I could smell it all over me. During the game I met some new people and they were so kind to me. I had so much fun and I can't wait for the next game.
This weekend we have a three day weekend, because Monday is Labor Day. I don't really know if we are going to do something special but I don't have to go to school, so I already like it! In this weekend we are probably going on a boat trip. I am really looking forward to it.
This was it for today. I will try to write soon again.
Love,
Susannah
Eerste School Week
Heey allemaal,

Eerste paar daagjes in Amerika
Heey Allemaal,
New York was prachtig!
Love,
Susannah
20 DAYS LEFT!!
Hooi allemaal,
.Liefs,
Susannah
Mississippi it is!
Hoi Allemaal,
Liefs,
Susannah
